Alchemy of Fire T-Shirt

I find myself endlessly charmed by the way that early inklings of science and fantasy blur in the history of alchemy. Here was a curiosity about of our world melded with an openness to the esoteric that has long since been abandoned for modern sensibilities. 

This shirt is our own bit of alchemy. A collaboration between our studio and illustrator pal Veronica Steiner, it’s a blending of our two styles that’s a little bit scientific and more than little magical. Joelle and Veronica drew this homage to classic alchemical imagery together: a playful menagerie of stags, fire salamanders, and the cosmos. 

• “Alchemy of Fire” was hand drawn by Joelle and Veronica. Lovingly hand screen printed in our Lemoyne, PA print studio by Justin in white water based eco ink.

Anyone who ever mixed a potion of twigs, flowers, and rainwater as a child can probably relate to the impulse at the heart of alchemy’s practitioners. Here’s a fun and stylish reminder; some of our earliest great thinkers also yearned for a bit of magic.
