The influence of alchemy on art runs deep. They may not have found the fountain of youth but they discovered how to alloy metals, create oil paints, and refine chemicals employed later in developing photos. The images alchemists used to secretly write their formulas are now woven throughout the visual language of art. Here’s our own take on those motifs in a playfully naive style that harkens back to those earliest of notebooks.
