The glaistig is a Scottish ghost mentioned in folk tales as sometimes woman, sometimes goat, sometimes a bit of both. In darker stories she uses rocks and trickery to throw travelers off course or lures men with song and dance to later drink their blood. Others say she is immortal but cursed with the legs of a goat (sounds like a fair trade to me), but is largely kind: a protector of cattle and small children. An illustration about enigma, magic, and maternal power, we choose to draw on themes from all of the above. What can we say? We believe women should be presented in all of their complexity. This black fleece pullover features a wide front pocket and a drawstring hood. Hand screened in our Harrisburg PA, studio with non-toxic white water based ink on the chest. Ideal for layering, cold nights, and all manner of cozy wear.
